I haven't had time it seems lately to post or much else. The girls have been keeping us busy along with the numerous trips to the pediatrician's office. Two weeks ago we were finally able to get the girls in for their H1N1 vaccine. The same morning we had our appointment Abby came down with pink eye so we were able to get her treated right away. Luckily as of yet no one else has gotten. I tried to disinfect everything I could but you never know. Abby ran a low fever the next two days which we expected and was fine by that Tuesday (had gotten shots on Saturday). That Thursday night she woke up with a fever in the middle of the night and ran a 103 degree fever that Friday afternoon so without any other obvious symptoms we took her in that same day to be checked out to make sure it wasn't an ear infection and make sure we could rule out swine flu. The doctor didn't see anything and suggested it might just be some type of virus that needed to run its course so wait until Monday and if no change come back. Well Abby ran a fever the entire weekend with it going up to 104 at night. We were trying to do our best giving her tylenol to help keep her comfortable and lower the fever. She just wasn't herself so we went back today to be checked out again. They did full bloodwork on her for which she didn't even flinch and these took the blood samples. I was pleasantly shocked as I was expecting the tears to flow. We waited until the results came back although they didn't help much in identifying what might be going on. They then sent us over to the hospital for a chest x-ray. Abby did awesome and even managed to score a lollipop for her and her sister. We waited until the results were ready and ended up talking to the doctor again to find out that it looks like she may have mild bronchitis. So the doctor went ahead and prescribed an antibiotic which she started tonight. I am waiting to find out if she is going to wake up in a few hours buring up or sleep comfortably. Keep your fingers crossed this does the trick because I really don't want to have to go back to the peds office again on Friday.

Mommy has been calling the doctor at least every other day trying to find out when they can give me an H1N1 shot. Today, she got lucky and the doctor told her to bring me by. When we got in the car, I knew something was different as we didn't drive towards school so I asked Mommy, "Where we are going?" She explained that we were going to see the doctor real quick. I told her "No doctor, No shots" but she kept on driving! When we got to the doctor's office, I told her, "No doctor, no shots," but she didn't listen - she kept on walking with me into the doctor's office. When we got into the exam room, I decided to tell the nurse since mommy clearly wasn't listening. I said, "No doctor, no shots" and guess what - the nurse said "OK" and then she told me to just blow like I was blowing out a birthday candle, so I started to sing her "Happy Birthday". She said I was cute and then she stuck this thing up my nosed and squeezed some liquid - it startled me a bit, but didn't hurt so I let her do the other nostril as well. When she turned around, I asked her, "All done?" and she said Yes and so I said "Thank you" and we left. Thankfully - no shots!
Mommy is thrilled that I was able to get the vaccine as she has been a bit worried. She took this picture of me when we were just getting ready to leave the doctor's waiting room.
I am sure glad that nurse listened to me!
First, we're happy to announce that the team has identified and fixed the issue with the YouTube conduit; you can now find and add videos from YouTube to your library and posts. As always, thanks for your patience!
The other news we have today is about a new addition to the Six Apart family: TypePad Micro, a new free level of TypePad that is streamlined for microblogging. We see a new form of blogging emerging that lives between the quick status updates of Twitter and Facebook and the long-form posts of "classic" blogging; TypePad Micro is designed to meet that need. You can read more about TypePad Micro in Chris Alden's post on the Everything TypePad blog.
A lot of the new capabilities we've added to TypePad this year were actually inspired by some of the best things about Vox: favoriting, member profiles, a dashboard to follow other bloggers, and easy ways to post content from other social media sites. But the things that make Vox different from TypePad are still there: Vox has always been -- and still is -- the best place for "friends and family" blogging, where you're in control over who sees what. TypePad, on the other hand, is built for the blogger who wants, no, craves, attention.
Do you have a passion or interest you want to share with people beyond your Vox neighborhood? If so, we'd love it if you tried out TypePad Micro. Maybe you've always wanted to start that obsessive blog that's just about waffle restaurants. Or want a place to share videos of your favorite band (Jonas Brothers, anyone? Anyone? ...). TypePad Micro's great for those topic-specific blogs. Take it for a spin and let us know what you think.
On the Vox front, our designers are working on some cool new themes (coming soon!). We'd also love to hear your thoughts about where we should take Vox in the coming year. What are the key things you'd like to see for Vox? If you've had a chance to use TypePad this year, what are the features there that we should bring over to Vox? And, if you're thinking big thoughts, how could we connect the Vox and TypePad communities in order to bring together bloggers and their shared passions? Your feedback is really important to us, so please leave a comment here, or shoot me a message.
And again, thanks for your patience as we found and fixed the YouTube bug!

As many of you have noticed, the YouTube Conduit is not working. I am so sorry about this; I know how frustrating it is.
The team is looking into how to get this fixed and I will update you as soon as I hear something. In the meantime, not all is lost... There is a work-around for posting videos.
When you're in the Compose Screen, just click on "embed." Ignore the fact that it says "Widget" before everything because you can definitely use this to embed videos as well. You'll just need to input the embed code from the video, enter a title (if you want) and hit OK.
It might not show up perfectly in your compose screen, but when you hit "Save," your video should appear just the way you wanted it to.
Hopefully this will allow you to keep posting videos while we figure out what's happening on our end.
As always, thanks for your patience.
Mommy hasn't had a chance to help me update my blog in a while as we've been busy.
Let's see.....first my birthday - I had an amazing birthday party at MyGym with a lot of my friends. We played, ran and jumped and we had cake and ice cream. Mommy was thrilled with how it all turned out and my friends kept telling me what a great time they had. Mom wasn't able to get a lot of pictures because we I didn't stand still for long- I pretty much ran the entire hour and a half. Grandma came to help and between the two of them, they got enough pictures for my scrapbook. Here are a couple from that day - I think you can see how much fun I had.
After the party I went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house and had a great birthday dinner. I also got to open all my birthday presents! Grandma got me the coolest gift - a really big trash truck!
I also opened all my other gifts at Grandma & Grandpa's house which mom thinks is hilarious because now everytime I play with one of my birthday gifts I say "Thank you Grandma, Thank you Grandpa". It was a great birthday and I love being two!
Mommy is very proud of me because I have such great manners. I say please and thank you and I bless people after they ssneeze. I even tell mommy to excuse me when I want her to move out of my way. I am growing up very fast. Mommy says I throw fits just like any two year old and she even videotaped me having one because she said she has to have video of all of me...not just the adorable parts.
Soon after my birthday, it was Halloween. This is one of mom's favorite holidays and I really like it also. At school, we had a Halloween Carnival and even got to pick our own pumpkin from the school pumkin patch. I dressed as a UPS man for Halloween. We went to the Halloween party at MyGym just like we did last year. It's always so fun and there are so many kids there.
Mom took me over to the Carpenters and we hung out with them for a couple of hours and then we did trick or treat at about 10 houses. I was a little shy at first but I got the hang of it. I knocked on the door, said trick or treat and the nice people gave me candy. I even got to pet a dog at someone's house! There were a couple of houses that I was too afraid to go to because they had cobwebs and lights and scary sounds and so I just told momm they were "too scary"
I sure love candy. Mom doesn't let me have too much but when I get it - it sure is a treat. Mom said that next year I'm going to have even more fun but I can't imagine how we'll top this year.
As far as a regular update, I'm doing really good. I'm healthy and happy and Mommy just had her parent-teacher conference at school and I got a glowing report. I love to run and play and I really love anything that has to do with sports.
We are getting ready for the holidays. In fact, we are heading over to Grandma's house today for a "mini-thanksgiving" dinner with Great Grandpa!
Megan and I arrived back home from San Diego last night after spending almost a week out there. The flights out there were pretty uneventful which is awesome with traveling with an almost two year old sitting on our lap for the 6 hours of flights. Lucky for me she slept for most of the second flight which was the longest of the two from Chicago.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I spent my days working in the office and Megan stayed with Nana and Papa. She loved following Nana around watching Nana use her embroidery machine to make Micky and Minnie Mouses or as Megan just called them 'mouse'. She had lots of toys to keep her busy many of which were mine from childhood. Megan also liked exploring the backyard looking for bunnies and picking flowers.
Monday, the first day we were there Nana and Papa had the unfortunate luck of having a water leak coming from under their concrete foundation. So the next three days were busy with carpets being pulled, bathrooms ripped apart, holes in walls, industrial fans blowing, jackhammers and all the other crazy stuff that comes along with it. By Tuesday the hot water was back on which was a relief but it will probably be a while until everything is cosmetically repaired.
I had taken one day off of work and ended up going to the zoo with Megan, Nana and Papa. I was so excited to take her there and see her reaction. I was expecting to get a big reaction from seeing the monkeys but it was the hippos, or habus as she would say, that got her the most excited. I spent most of my time trying to see her reaction to everything. She seemed to enjoy it all but eventually fell asleep for a quick nap, but was ready to go again. We ended our visit with a stop in the petting zoo area which Megan absolutely loved. The only thing that would have been better was to have had both girls there.
We were also able to spend some time with a few friends while we were there. We managed to make it out to dinner with Cheryl one night and spend some time with Abby and her baby Ainsley. Megan seemed to like baby Ainsley but was probably more interested in all her fun toys. Once they get a little older they will be able to enjoy playing together more.
The day before we left we were able to hang out with family. My brothers and their families came over to visit. We also celebrated my nephew's birthday with some infamous 'brownie cake' of which Megan got her first taste.
While I traveled with Megan, Abby stayed with her daddy who took good care of her while we were gone. On his way to work he took her to daycare and picked her up on his way home. I knew she would be occupied during the day and get daddy's attention at night. As much as I don't like splitting the girls up it is nice to get to have one-on-one time with them from time to time. Even this trip was harder than when I took Abby to San Diego last March. When I was packing and putting Megan's snugglie (toy giraffe) in the bag Abby brought me her monkey. The poor thing didn't understand that only Megan was going this time. The drop off at the airport was hard. Abby just cried and cried when we got out. Kenny had to stop on the way home to try and calm her down. After that intial event she did fine the rest of the time. Kenny was there at the airport with Abby to pick us up. Abby gave me the biggest best hug which melted me. She kept hugging me and wanted to stay with me. Neither girl seemed too excited to see each other, that is until after we were home and they started chasing each other giggling and tackling each other.
Well that is about it for our trip. Overall it was great, now time to unpack the bags and get back to our routine.
Go forth and fill your libraries with media.
Seriously, thanks to everyone for being so amazing and patient. You are the reason I love Vox.
I was just told that the Amazon Conduit will be fixed by tomorrow. I will post here as soon as I get word that it's back up and running.
I know this has been frustrating and I am sorry there wasn't more I could do to make it less so. I really appreciate your patience though.
Cheers,
